Benton Citrange
a hybrid of Ruby Blood sweet orange and P.trifoliata
This variety was developed in Australia and is a useful rootstock particularly for lemons. A 'rootstock fact sheet' produced by AusCitrus is available for download here.
The photos below were taken in my garden in Buckinghamshire, England in November 2018. The plant is fully hardy here, despite recent winter temperatures down to -12C. The summer of 2018 was unusually warm which may have helped fruit production this year. Fruits taste unpleasantly bitter, with a lingering astringent aftertaste.
