An old Italian variety, listed in various 17th century books, and painted by the Medici artist Bartholomeo Bimbi.

I have one small plant, probably originating from the Tintori collection. Last year (2006) it produced it's first fruit, which I should  not have allowed to develop and weaken the plant. However, I couldn't resist - and it finally formed this small fruit about 4cms by 2cms which I picked in March 2007.
